Kosta Conomos is Executive Director, Retail Industry Group. Appointed to this role in June 2012, Kosta is responsible for Nielsen’s manufacturer and retailer relationships across Australia.
Prior to this role, Kosta served as Executive Director, Retailer Services where he led Nielsen’s retailer accounts leveraging Nielsen’s combined assets.
Kosta joined Nielsen in 2001 and has worked across more than 16 markets in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Nielsen, Kosta worked for Dairy Farm International (DFI) in Hong Kong, where he led the Meat and Bakery division within Wellcome Supermarkets encompassing more than 200 stores. In this role, Kosta was responsible for developing business strategy, growth and innovation in product development, store design and optimum shelf layout. Prior to DFI Kosta spent over 10 years with Woolworths Australia in several roles incorporating store management, grocery and fresh foods buying and category management.
Kosta is a regular contributor to the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC), Efficient Consumer Response Australasia (ECRA) and The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) as a key note speaker at their respective industry forums. His presentations centre on the evolution of the Retail Industry and the impact and opportunities for retailers and manufacturers to connect and engage with the evolving shopper and consumer.
Kosta holds an undergraduate Economics Degree from the University of Queensland.
